Semuliki National Park

Semuliki National Park is one of the newest national parks in Uganda located in the western parts of the country. It was created as Semuliki forest reserve in 1932 then made a national park in 1993. The park is found in Bundibugyo district on Uganda’s border with the Democratic Republic of Congo within the western arm of the Great East African Valley covering an area of 220 kilometers squared.

10 Day Mountain Kilimanjaro Hiking Itinerary

The Machame route is highly recommended for scenic value and has a medium to high success rate, especially if you choose the seven-day itinerary. The six-day option is not recommended for first-time trekkers. It is a good Kilimanjaro route for acclimatization as it has a climb high, sleep low opportunity for trekkers on day three. Here trekkers climb from Shira Camp 2 to Lava Tower at 4,600 meters, where they have lunch and then hike back down to Barranco Camp (3,900 meters) to sleep.

Chimpanzee Habituation Experience – Kibale National Park-Uganda

In Uganda, chimpanzee habituation is carried out at Kibale National Park also commonly known as the primates’ capital, located in Western Uganda, dominated by rainforest-interspersed with tracts of thick forests and swamps. Spanning altitudes of 1100-1590m, Kibale boasts a floral composition transitional to typical eastern Afro-montane and western lowland forest with more than 200 tree species recorded in total. Areas of mature forest are still liberally endowed with large buttressed mahoganies, tall fruit figs, and other hardwood trees whose canopy is up to 60m above the ground.
