Nyungwe Forest Lodge is located within the Tea estate and perched at the edge of Park’s boundary, Nyungwe Forest National Park is located south western Rwanda. Hop on the lodge and cave through to witness an overwhelming intimacy with the fascinating habituated Chimpanzees.
Nyungwe Forest Lodge consists of 22 luxury rooms which are situated in 6 wooden villas of 4 rooms each, there are two presidential suites in separate villas. Each room is equipped with private a veranda which offers stunning views overlooking the vast forest.
The dining area are made up of a wood-fenced area containing tables and chairs around an open fire which provides a great location for outdoor dining and sundowners, a tea lounge, a restaurant and a bar.
Activities at the Lodge
Take a guided nature walk through the forest and discover a sense of peace in the mighty forest, be captivated by the 140 species of orchids, 300 bird species and 16 endemic bird species namely Great Blue Turaco, Ruwenzori Turaco, Yellow eyed flycatcher, red-faced woodland among others.
Experience the thrill of observing a variety of primate species in their natural home, at least 12 primate species have been recorded at the park name Chimpanzee, Vervet monkey, Black and White Colobus among others.
With an extensive network of forest trails, there are a variety forest walks, consisting of 7 trails through the forest each marked with a different color. All trails are well maintained and offer the chance to see a diversity of primate, bird species and waterfall. Enjoy walking through the tree fern cover ravines across bubbling streams until you reach the waterfall a trek which usually takes 3-6 hours depending on how often you stop.
