Big five
In Uganda the big five game animals are the Lions, Elephants, Leopard, Rhinoceros and Buffalo, the term big five game was coined by big game hunters and refers to the five difficult animals in Uganda to hunt on foot. The term is used in most tourist and wildlife guides that discuss African wildlife safari. In Africa tree climbing lions can tracked in only Queen Elizabeth National Park-Ishasha sector in western Uganda.

Hiking
In Uganda hiking Giant Mountain can be undertaken at Mt Rwenzori (5,109)m, Mt Gahinga, Mt Sabinyo, Mt Muhavura and Mount Elgon (4,321)m. Mgahinga National Park is the best place to hike the park has three extinct volcanoes namely Gahinga (3475m), Muhavura (4127)m and Sabinyo (3669)m, the park has scenic caldera and a hike on top of these mountains will give you a chance to be in three countries Uganda, Rwanda and Democratic Republic of Congo at the same time.
Birding
Uganda is splendid with more than 1,060 bird species distributed over a wide range of habitats despite her small size and being a landlocked country-between Tanzania, Kenya, Rwanda, Sudan and the Democratic Republic of Congo. Uganda is renowned for having numerous 25 endemic bird species at the Albertine Rift Endemic Area of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and Mgahinga National Park. At least 28 globally threatened bird species can be found in Uganda namely Shoebill, African Green Broadbill, White-bellied Robin Quail, Black-ramped Button Quail, Madagascar Squacco Heron, Common Ostrich, Great Egret, and Saddled-billed Stork among others.
Natural Lakes and Rivers
Uganda has a vast number of lakes (27 lakes in total), 10 rivers and streams, Uganda’s surface water sources cover 15.4% of the total land area (236,040 km2). Lake Victoria being the second largest freshwater lake in the whole world will give you best boat cruises, fishing safaris and bird watching safaris. The lake is shared among three countries of East Africa namely Uganda, Tanzania and Kenya. Besides large water bodies Uganda is blessed with the longest river in the whole world the mighty Nile.
