Detailed Itinerary for 3 Days Eastern Lowland Gorilla Trekking Safari in Kahuzi Biega National Park.

Day 1: Pickup in Kigali and Transfer to Bukavu

After welcomes and briefing at Kigali International Airport, travel to the Cyangugu border. Welcoming with our border personnel. First, I helped with the formalities. The second step is to cross the border and check into your accommodation. As a result, if you come early, you may enjoy a tour of Bukavu city. The church, the large brewery (Bralima), the markets, the hydropower centre, and the famous Panzi hospital are among the sites to visit.

Day 2: Lowland Gorilla Trekking in Kahuzi Biega National Park

After breakfast at your accommodation, proceed to Tshivanga Station, where the gorilla trek in Kahuzi Biega National Park begins. You will be given a briefing on lowland gorilla tracking. Following the briefing, you continue your trek to encounter the gorillas via tiny forest roads. The duration of this trek is determined upon the gorillas’ location. Some days it might be a 20-40 minute walk from the road into the Forest, while other days it can take over an hour to reach the Lowland gorillas since they are always on the move in search of food.

After tracking, you may take an optional nature walk through the Kahuzi Biega national park and see the Tshibati waterfalls, as well as the research centre and a pygmy community on the park’s fringes. However, you may also visit the Lwiro refuge to observe orphaned primates, baboons, monkeys, and snakes. Return to the hotel for supper and sleep after this once-in-a-lifetime adventure.

Day 3: Transfer Back to Kigali.

After a leisurely breakfast, you will be taken back to Rwanda-Kigali via the Cyangugu border crossing. You’ll arrive in Kigali in the late afternoon. After that, you will be taken to Kigali International Airport for your flight. End of Safari.
