Overview

This is 7 days combined safari to Rwanda and Tanzania. During our 7 days of Rwanda and Tanzania Safari, you will get to track chimpanzees in Nyungwe forest national park and hike along the canopy walkway bridge. Later transfer to Arusha airport and then drive to Tarangire national park in Tanzania where you will enjoy a guided game drive in the park, with an option of exploring the park on a Hot Air Balloon Tour.

Day 1: Arrival

When you arrive in Kigali, you will be welcomed by a representative from our firm and transferred to Kigali city, where you will begin a city tour that includes visits to Kimironko market, Caplaki Craft Village, and the Kigali genocide memorial site. You will check in to a hotel, where you will eat supper and spend the night.

Day 2: Transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park

Breakfast is given early before departing for Nyungwe Forest National Park, with lunch on route. Stopovers will be made at the King’s Palace in Nyanza and the national museum in Butare. Arrive late in the afternoon in Nyungwe and settle into your hotel. Dinner and an overnight stay at your choice of hotel.

Day 3: Chimpanzee Tracking and Canopy Walk

Enjoy breakfast and go for a briefing before venturing into the Nyungwe forest in search of lively and playful men. Chimpanzees are simple to recognize because they jump from one tree to the next, chatting and laughing. Chimp tracking typically takes 3 hours. After eating your packed lunch, you will start on a guided stroll along the Canopy walkway bridge, a 50-meter-long swing bridge hung between enormous trees. You will be able to enjoy the magnificent jungle from above, witnessing creatures moving about below you. You will return to your hotel for supper and overnight before it gets dark.

Day 4: Transfer back to Kigali and Departure

Have breakfast early in the morning and drive back to Kigali with lunch en route. Drop off at Kigali International Airport for your evening flight to Arusha Tanzania.

Day 5: Pickup at Arusha Airport and Drive to Tarangire National Park

Arrive in Arusha early in the morning, where your driver’s guide will meet you at the airport. You will drive to Tarangire National Park, where your wildlife viewing adventures in Tanzania will begin. After settling in at your national park lodge, you will prepare to enjoy lunch before venturing out into the national park’s wildness.

During your game drive, you will witness a wide range of animal species like lions, giraffes, antelopes, giraffes, lions, leopards, buffalos, wildebeests, elands, elephants, cheetahs, impalas, and a variety of bird species, particularly in the Tarangire national park. While you enjoy the sunset and beauty, your guide will take you back to your chosen resort for supper and lodging.

Day 6: Full Day Game Drive and Optional Hot Air Balloon Tour

After breakfast, depart for a game drive through the park. View a variety of animals as they traverse Tarangire National Park’s wide savannah plains. You’ll have lots of opportunities and time to look for any specific creatures on your bucket list. Return to your resort for lunch and spend the afternoon relaxing. If you like, you may take a hot air balloon tour in the park early in the morning or late in the evening. Dinner and an overnight stay at your chosen lodge.

Day 7: Transfer Back to Arusha

Wake up at leisure and have breakfast at your lodge. Check out of your lodge and meet up with your driver guide. You will embark on a 3-4 hours drive back to Arusha where you will be dropped off at a hotel of your choice or Arusha international airport for your onward flight back home. End of Safari.
