This 5 day Bwindi gorillas and wildlife safari tour will take you to Queen Elizabeth National Park, Uganda’s second largest and most visited national park. The national park is located in south-western Uganda and provides exciting activities such as wildlife drives in the Kasenyi plains and boat cruises on the Kazinga Channel. The 5 days Bwindi gorillas and wildlife safari will also take you to the famed Bwindi Impenetrable Forest national park, which is home to Africa’s greatest concentration of mountain gorillas. During gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, you will have face-to-face interactions with mountain gorillas, providing you with magnificent and amazing safari experiences.

Detailed itinerary
Day 1: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park
Depending on where you are in Kampala, our driver guide will pick you up, brief you on your 5 days Bwindi gorillas and wildlife safari, and then begin the journey, which will take around 6 to 7 hours. On your route, you will pass by the equator, which is a beautiful site for photographs as well as a gift spot since they offer art and craft goods, so if you want to buy handcrafted items or art pieces, the equator is a nice place to stop.
From the equator, you will continue your journey, stopping for lunch at the Igongo Cultural Centre. The Igongo Cultural Centre is a wonderful spot to come for beautiful vistas of animal and human sculptures, as well as to explore the museum and book shop.
After lunch, you will travel via Mbarara town, Bushenyi, where you will see tea plantations along the roadside, to Fort Portal town, and then proceed with your journey to Queen Elizabeth National Park, situated in the western part of Uganda. Upon arrival, you will go on an evening game drive in the Kasenyi plains, where you will see elephants, buffaloes, Uganda kobs, waterbucks, warthogs, gigantic forest pigs, and a variety of bird species. Day 2: Morning game drive (lion tracking) and afternoon Boat cruise
On the second day, you will wake up early, eat breakfast, and then meet your driver guide to proceed to Kasenyi Plains for a morning wildlife drive or lion tracking excursion. During the game drive, you will encounter leopards, lions, elephants, Uganda kobs, waterbucks, buffaloes, bushbucks, warthogs, hyenas, bush pigs, and different bird species like the papyrus Gonolek, white backed night heron, yellow throated cuckoo, red chested sunbird, and white winged warbler. After the 4 to 5 hour game drive, you will be driven to the lodge for lunch.
Following lunch, you will meet your driver guide and proceed to the afternoon boat excursion. The boat ride at the park takes place on Kazinga channel, a piece of water that connects Lake George with Lake Edward. The boat ride begins at 2:00pm at the luxury property Mweya safari lodge and lasts around 2 hours.
Boat cruises on the Kazinga channel are an exciting and adventurous activity where you will be able to cruise close to animals such as elephants, buffaloes, hippos, Nile crocodiles, waterbucks which will be viewed along the water banks and various water birds such as martial eagle, papyrus Gonolek, pelicans, African skimmers, cormorants, African spoonbills, fish eagles, king fisher’s Following the boat ride, you will return to the resort for supper and stay. Day 3: Transfer to Bwindi impenetrable forest national park
You will wake up early, have breakfast, check out of the lodge, and meet your driver guide for the 4 hour’s road trip to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. You will drive via Ishasha sector, which is located in the southern section of Queen Elizabeth National Park which is home to the famed tree climbing lions. During the wildlife drive in Ishasha sector, you will encounter tree climbing lions lounging up in the acacia fig trees looking down on the antelopes grazing on the savannah plains.
It is thought that the tree climbing lions in the Ishasha region climb trees to escape the heat of the ground during the afternoon hours, as well as to avoid tsetse bugs. Other creatures seen during the game drive in Ishasha sector include buffaloes, elephants, antelopes, and a variety of bird species.
