Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Nairobi and Drive to Masai Mara National Reserve
On Day 1 of your 7 Days Kenya Wildlife and Uganda Primates Safari, you will be greeted by a company representative upon arrival at Nairobi’s Jomo Kenyatta international airport and driven to a hotel for a meal before embarking on a road drive to Masai Mara national reserve, where you will check into your lodge for dinner and overnight. If you arrive early, you will spend the evening on a game drive near your lodge, admiring the beautiful splendor of Masai Mara, which is home to a variety of wildlife.
Day 2 &3: Full day Game Drive in Masai Mara National Reserve
Day 2 and 3 of your 7-day Kenya Wildlife and Uganda primates safari are dedicated to exploring the Masai Mara national reserve. After breakfast, you will prepare a picnic lunch in order to avoid returning to the lodge for lunch during the wildlife drive. Meet your safari driver and go for a full day of wildlife watching, beginning with an early morning game drive, followed by an afternoon game drive and an evening game drive. Because the Masai Mara National Park has so many attractions, you will need two good days, including days 2 and 3, to fully explore all corners and see the highest population of species. Rhinos, elephants, buffaloes, zebras, giraffes, lions, wildebeests, elands, gazelles, and other animals may be observed at Masai Mara. You can also choose for an optional hot air balloon ride to get a bird’s-eye perspective of Masai Mara.
Day 4: Fly to Entebbe international airport Uganda and visit Ngamba Island
On day 4 of your 7-day Kenya wildlife and Uganda primates safari, check out of your lodge and board a domestic aircraft direct from Masai Mara to Entebbe international airport in Uganda, where another safari driver will be waiting for you. He will pick you up and transport you to your allocated hotel in Entebbe, where you will check in, freshen yourself, and begin on an afternoon excursion through Ngamba Island to see the orphaned chimps being safeguarded in a sanctuary beside Lake Victoria. This means you’ll get to ride around Lake Victoria, the biggest lake in East Africa shared by Uganda, Kenya, and Tanzania, on your way to the chimp sanctuary for a chimp viewing excursion. Return to your resort late at night for supper and an overnight stay.
Day 5: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National park
After breakfast on day 5 of your 7-day Kenya wildlife and Uganda primate safari, check out of your accommodation and depart from Entebbe on a lengthy drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park located in western Uganda, the home of endangered mountain gorillas and Uganda’s most visited park. Bwindi impenetrable national park is known worldwide for the ultimate gorilla experience because it is home to the largest population of endangered mountain gorillas, with more than half of the remaining population divided between Mgahinga gorilla national park in Uganda, volcanoes national park in Rwanda, and Virunga national park in Congo. Along the trip, you will stop near the equator to take photos before continuing on to Mbarara for lunch before arriving at your resort in Bwindi for check-in, dinner, and overnight stay.
Day 6: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi impenetrable national park
After breakfast on day 6 of your 7-day Kenya wildlife and Uganda primates safari, your safari driver will be waiting to take you to a briefing with other trekkers before going on the true art of hunting for the world’s gorillas. Before leaving your accommodation, make sure you have adequate food and drinking water, as well as the best gorilla trekking gear. The full jungle walk can take anything from a few minutes to an entire day, depending on the movement of the gorillas and the hiking speed of the slowest member in your party of 8 trekkers protected by armed rangers. Diner and overnight stay at your lodge same as previous night.
Day 7: Drive back to Kampala & Departure
On day 7 of your 7-day Kenya wildlife and Uganda primates safari, enjoy your breakfast before checking out of your accommodation and beginning your journey back to Kampala with an enroute lunch in Mbarara. You will also have another stop over at the equator monuments in Kayabwe for a few pictures before embarking on your return journey back to Kampala/Entebbe. End of Safari
