4 Days Uganda Gorilla Trekking Tour

Overview

A trip to Uganda’s Deep South west, where the borders of Rwanda, Democratic Republic of Congo and Uganda meet, is a trip not soon to be forgotten. For it is there that the visitor will meet the rare and endangered mountain Gorillas. There are only four national parks where you can see the mountain Gorillas two of which are in Uganda: Mgahinga Gorilla National Park and Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

TRIP HIGHLIGHTS

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1 – Entebbe/Kampala to Kibale Forest National Park

After breakfast you will set off for Fort Portal Town en-route to Kibale Forest National Park for your Chimpanzee tracking experience. You will stop over in Fort Portal for lunch and a brief tour around the Crater Lake.

Arrive and check in at the hotel/lodge right in time for your evening dinner.

Day 2 – Chimpanzee Tracking and Transfer to Bwindi National Park

Early morning breakfast will be served at the lodge after which you will transfer to Kanyanchu Tourism Center for briefing and the Chimpanzee trekking will start at 8am. The chimpanzee trekking experience will take anywhere between 2-5 hours involving hikes through the forested landscape that covers vast chunks of Kibale National Park.

You will return to the lodge and transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Dinner and Overnight stay at Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Day 3 – Gorilla tracking and afternoon transfer to Lake Bunyonyi

Early morning breakfast will be served at the Lodge after which you will transfer to the park headquarters for briefing for allocation of your Gorilla tracking groups and meeting the rangers.  You will connect to the trailhead and enter the forest on foot in pursuit of the gigantic primates that have come to be popular known as the Mountain Gorillas. The Gorilla tracking experience takes anywhere between 2-6 hours depending on the location of the Mountain Gorillas on a particular day. You are allotted a time frame of one hour to stay with the Gorillas in their natural habitat and observe their peculiar habits as the young ones play about and the some feeding on leaves.
After your close encounter with the Gorillas you will return to the Lodge and depart for Lake Bunyonyi where you will relax and can opt for some nature walks at the shores of the Lake.

Day 4 – Transfer to Entebbe/Kampala

You will do an early morning canoe ride prior to departing for Kampala.  Brief stop-over in Mbarara for lunch enroute to Kampala /Entebbe
