The 4 Day Gorilla Trekking and Wildlife Safari takes you to two of Uganda’s top African safari gems, Queen Elizabeth NP for the African savanna game drive and boat safari on Kazinga Channel to catch sight of the the big and small wildlife animals come to the shores for a fresh water sit. You’ll also be hiking the misty jungle trails of the oldest montane forest on the continent, Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, to see the mountain gorilla silverback with his family in their natural setting.

Detailed Itinerary


Arrival and your private Gorilla Trekking and Wildlife Safari driver and guide will transfer you to your booked lodge in Entebbe/Kampala. Accommodation before the trip commences can be arranged at a price exclusive of the trip quote.

Day 1 – Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Travel to Queen Elizabeth National Park, afternoon Boat Cruise along the Kazinga Channel and Evening Game Drive along the Channel Track

After breakfast at your lodge, at about 06:30 your driver for the Gorilla Trekking and Wildlife Safari will brief you embark on a western Uganda scenic journey to Queen Elizabeth National Park. A stop will be made at Kayabwe for the Equator experience. Look out your window to catch sight of the magnificent Rwenzoori Mountain backdrop as you approach Queen Elizabeth NP.

Check into your lodge for relaxation and lunch. After lunch, depart for a 2-hour afternoon boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel. The channel is a great place to watch wildlife especially in the summer when every animal or bird big and small come to quench their thirst from the fresh waters of the Channel.  The evening sunset will be great for a short African safari game drive along the Channel tracks. Day 2 – Queen Elizabeth National Park

Morning Game Drive through Kasenyi tracks of Queen Elizabeth National Park and Travel to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

After breakfast, kick start the Gorilla Trekking and Wildlife Safari day with a morning African safari game drive through Queen Elizabeth National Park along the Kasenyi track and Queen’s mile. Catch sight of Elephant and buffalo are that are common very common on the tracks, and lion are surprisingly easy to spot. There are many interesting antelope species such as Uganda kob, topi and bushbuck.

From the park the driver will get onto the Kabale highway through the Western Uganda rolling hills to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Lunch will be served en route. Check into your lodge for relaxation, dinner and overnight.

Day 3 – Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi

Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, Travel to Lake Bunyonyi and Evening Boat Cruise on Lake Bunyonyi.

After breakfast at 06:30, packed lunch will be provided and you’ll be transfered to the park headquaters to embark on your Gorilla Trekking and Wildlife Safari highlight. Drive to the Park Headquarters for registration of your gorilla permit details with the Park Authority. You will be assigned a gorilla group under the guidance of a ranger to partake in the tracking. The ranger-guide will lead the group and brief you about the tracking.

Proceed to the start point of the tracking at 08:00. It can take up to several hours before mountain gorillas can be found. You will spend approximately one hour in the company of the animals. Return to the park offices and collect your mountain gorilla tracking certificate.

Set off on a journey to the beautiful Lake Bunyonyi area to relax and clean off that gorilla trekking excitement and indulge in enjoyable recollection of past events of the Uganda safari experience. Conclude your day with an evening boat cruise on Lake Bunyonyi.

Day 4 – Kigali, Rwanda

After breakfast, end your 4 Day Gorilla Trekking and Wildlife Safari by crossing the border into Rwanda’s side, experience Rwanda’s beautiful countryside, the green hills and valleys, the people by the road side the beautiful fresh air. Get into Kigali 4 hours later in time for your flight or check into a lodge for next day’s departure.
