The 5 Day Gorilla Tracking & Wildlife Safari is inherent of gorilla tracking and hiking the misty jungles of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and also traversing the African savanna to view wild game in Queen Elizabeth National Park respectively.

Expect marvelous game viewing of land and water animals to be one of the highlights on this Uganda safari but the hike through the montane forests in search of the elusive mountain gorillas, finding them and spending that one hour in their presence will blow your mind away and reward you with higher empathy levels for years to come.

Detailed Itinerary

Arrival

After your arrival at Entebbe International Airport, your private Gorilla Tracking & Wildlife Safari driver and guide will pick you and transfer you to your booked hotel in Entebbe or the capital Kampala 38 kilometers away. Accommodation before the trip can be arranged at your discretion.

Day 1 – Travel to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After an early breakfast, start your planned Gorilla Tracking & Wildlife Safari journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park at 07:00. You can choose to drive the countryside and enjoy the green blanket scenery for 9 hours to Bwindi or take a local flight to avoid the long hour lag.

If you chose the countryside road trip, you’ll have a stop over at Kayabwe for the Equator experience. Lunch will be served en route. Arrive at the lodge in time for dinner, an evening chat and relax for tomorrow’s adventure in the jungle.

Day 2 – Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

The Gorilla Tracking & Wildlife Safari d-day is here. Breakfast will be served at 06:30 and packed lunch provided. Drive to the Park Headquarters for registration of your gorilla permit details with the Park Authority.

You will be assigned a gorilla group under the guidance of a ranger to partake in the tracking. The Gorilla Tracking and Wildlife Safari ranger-guide will lead the group and brief it about the tracking rules.

Proceed to the start point of the tracking at 08:00. It can take up to several hours before mountain gorillas can be found. You will spend approximately one hour in the company of the animals. Head to the park offices and collect your mountain gorilla tracking certificate. Return to your lodge for relaxation, dinner and overnight.

Day 3 – Travel to Queen Elizabeth National Park

After breakfast, drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park. You will approach Queen Elizabeth National Park from the Ishasha sector rendering you an opportunity to see the tree-climbing lions. Lunch will be served en route. Check into your lodge for relaxation, dinner and overnight.

Day 4 – Queen Elizabeth National Park Activities

Morning Game Drive through Queen Elizabeth National Park, Afternoon Boat Cruise on Kazinga Channel and Evening Game Drive along the Channel Track

After breakfast, commence the Gorilla Tracking & Wildlife Safari with a morning game drive through Queen Elizabeth National Park along the Kasenyi track and Queen’s Mile.

Return to your booked Gorilla Tracking & Wildlife Safari lodge for relaxation and lunch. After lunch, depart for a 2-hour evening boat cruise on Kazinga channel. Expect sublime viewing of birds, crocodiles and hippos. Conclude the day with an evening game drive along the Channel track. Return to your lodge for relaxation, dinner and overnight.
