Gorilla Leisure Lodge is a sumptuous Lodge located in the Rushaga gorilla tracking sector of the chilly Bwindi Impenetrable forest national park. About 5 minutes’ drive from Rushaga Gorilla Tracking Park Headquarters. The rich green Kisoro hills and the undulating, volcanic landscapes of the Bwindi forest frame this safari lodge, making it a serene, quiet, and cool haven.

We are an exclusive safari lodge with a total of 12 rooms ranging from deluxe singles, Doubles to executive family cottages. All rooms feature spectacular views of the forest.
Luxury Family Cottage
One of the few lodges in Rushaga-Bwindi featuring a family cottage is Gorilla Leisure Lodge. It is enormous, with a sizable living area, and two bedrooms, each with a bathroom and strong water pressure. The suites also feature an outside terrace where you can spend quality time with loved ones. If you are seeking for a spot for a family-friendly hotel to travel with little children, you will be blown away by them.
Each of the 7 single rooms of the lodge’s cottages is tucked away in a peaceful area of the jungle. Thus, it allows visitors to have an uninterrupted connection with nature. Their balconies stand out as a perfect spot to relax while holding a book in one hand and a hot cup of coffee from Uganda in the other.
The rooms are roomy and have good ventilation so that you may enjoy the pristine freshness of the forest. You will be provided with a hot water bottle at night to warm your bed.

This is evident in everything from the exquisitely woven ceiling to the way the food is displayed when ordered in-room. They (the rooms) are perfect for folks who value complete seclusion.

Our restaurant goes above and beyond what is meant by “eco-friendly. Each piece of décor is unique and colorful. The Bakiga tribe’s ancient traditional architecture style, which uses basket reeds to thatch its roof, served as inspiration. As a result, there is a magnificent dining room and a cozy guest lounge.
There are 7 habituated gorilla families active for gorilla tracking in the Rushaga gorilla sector, namely Nsongi Gorilla family (8 individuals – 1 silverback), Busingye Gorilla Family (12 individuals – 1 silverback), Mucunguzi gorilla Family (8 individuals – 1 silverback), Mishaya Gorilla Family (10 individuals -1 silverback), Bweza Gorilla Family (12 individuals – 3 silverbacks), Kahungye (14 individuals – 2 silverbacks), Rwigi gorilla Family (6 individuals – 1 silverback). There are 56 gorilla permits active for gorilla tacking on a daily basis in the Rushaga Gorilla Sector. The price of a gorilla trekking permit, is US$700 for each trek.
Gorilla Habituation Experience
The Rushaga Gorilla Sector is the only gorilla sector where travelers can encounter the gorilla habituation experience, up to 6 people are allowed to encounter this experience – at the moment there is only one gorilla family consisting 10 individuals. Gorilla habituation experience costs US$ 1,500 per person. There 2 gorilla Family Bikyingi Gorilla Family and Bushaho Gorilla Family which are being habituated.
Nature Walks
Nature Walks are offered at the same fees elsewhere in Bwindi, Birdlife is broadly similar to Buhoma, on this nature you will be able to see many primates like L’Hoest’s Monkey, blue monkey, red tailed monkey, black and white colobus and baboons, on this walk you can opt to partake the 3 hour waterfall trail descends into a steep valley dripping with giant tree ferns, then climb upwards through a narrow, stream-filled fissure in the cliff face to reach a towering, rock-walled atrium containing a cascade of more than 30m.
Batwa Cultural Experience
A Mtwa guide leads visitors on Batwa cultural trails, which provide an opportunity to learn about the traditional forest lifestyle of the Batwa pygmy in Bwindi Forest, historically the home of the Batwa. You can take pleasure in the Batwa people’s traditional dances and customs, which also include building traditional fire.
